Give the Gift of a Lift Sweepstakes: You Told Us Who Deserves a Holiday Pick-Me-Up

Here’s hoping your holidays are healthy and happy! For our “Give the Gift of a Lift” sweepstakes, which wrapped up yesterday, we asked you to tell us what special person in your life deserves a pick-me-up at this most wonderful time of the year. In your thousands of nominations on Facebook and Instagram, you spoke reverently of the everyday heroes who make your worlds go ’round. We loved when you tagged someone—and got tagged back. We loved when you selflessly volunteered to give the entire prize ($50 for you, $50 for them) to your better half. We loved that no emoji was spared.

We sincerely thank you for chiming in and, more than that, for inviting Bare Necessities into your lives. You are hardworking students, tireless mothers, dedicated employees, long-distance friends, indispensable support systems and much more. It’s clear we share the mission of lifting women up.

This week, we’ve collected some of the heart-warming entries we received; you can find more using the hashtags #givealiftgetalift and #bnsweepstakes. It just might give your spirits a little boost, too.

MOTHERS & CAREGIVERS
Camilly Taylor: My mother is totally deserving, as a matter of fact, I wouldn’t keep any portion of this if I win; I would give the whole $100 to my mom.

fetchgretch5: My mom @race26.2mom would love a lift! She is so selfless in her service to others…always giving her time and talents! We are lucky to have her!

hopeless1101: @dkray_1 she always puts her kids first, it’d be nice for her to have something nice for herself

kfass25: I choose @ashleynicolemansfield because she has dedicated so much time and effort into saving wildlife. She gets up in the middle of the night to feed these babies and make sure they have the medication they need. She also helps other domestic animals in her community and she is an all around ray of sunshine.

Diana Castaldini: Eileen, my endlessly giving mother, deserves the gift of a lift for being my caregiver during several years of serious chronic illness—driving me to and from countless doctors, picking up prescriptions, shopping because I can’t get out. And I need the gift of a lift too, to get my mind off being sick!! We’re low on funds because my illness has robbed us of so much, so there won’t be many gifts this year. We both love bare necessities bras and pajamas

Althea Thomas: Aaliyah Carroll needs to win because she’s an awesome mom to my 2 yr old granddaughter and every mom deserves a break…

Ashley Nichole: Busse Meagan Cowsert deserves to win because she’s a hard working mom that needs a special treat! She’s always there for me and I’d be completely lost without her!

Brittany Dawn Denton: My mom Debbie Elmer deserves the gift of lift, she does so much for everyone else without asking for anything in return! She’s also a 20 year breast cancer survivor!

Gina Germane: Gallagher Amber Cheras takes care of her extended family, from the small children to the aged who need constant care. She deserves something wonderful from Bare Necessities for herself!

piecesofme_lc: My mom deserves the gift of a lift because to improve her health, she’s lost over 100 lbs. and her body has gone through a major transformation. She’s also so loving and giving and only ever wants love in return. She’s such a blessing to me and I always want to be a blessing to her.

Kymi: @kwillsmom she works hard for her family—a powerhouse of love!

Connie Williamson: My daughter-in-law Katie Lovins not only makes my son very happy, but she gave me the gift of a very beautiful grandson this year—all while being one of the sweetest young ladies I know.

FRIENDS & MENTORS
angelasbnb: My sweet friend @rkayem is my rock! She lifts me up daily with words of encouragement and support! Love her bunches! ????????????????????

Tamara Schroth Bennington: Elle Briarson deserves a gift of a lift because she she has lifted me up since we lost almost everything in a house fire a couple of months ago. Without her support I don’t how I would have gotten by these dark days!

happymimi13: If you look up the definition of thoughtful, chances are you’ll find @freedms name and picture underneath because she’s the most thoughtful friend to walk this earth and I’m grateful for her!

dkray_1: @hopeless1101 she is an amazing friend who helps me find time for myself and helps me remember I’m not as old as I sometimes feel

kymnnected: @savvychic07 deserves a gift of a lift. Love for her to feel fa la la la fabulous for the holidays & into the New Year. ????

Kitty Smalling: My friend Jennifer Souveroff really deserves a lift because she is such a great mom, wife, daughter and friend and misses her daughter terribly who is away at college and she does so much for others and sometimes forgets that she needs caring for as well!

Renee Henderson-Gray: Margaret Porter deserves the gift of a lift because I can always count on her, she’s a great mentor, and always a helping hand when you need one.

ohbrookiecookie: @jkchil deserves a lift because she just got a new position and is working like crazy. She has to work on holidays and misses spending quality time with her family. I think this could really cheer her up! ????

Kelsey Staples: I would give my dear friend Debi Rollman a lift. She has a lot going on at this moment and a lift would brighten her day.
Debi Rollman: Aw! Thanks, girlfriend! A lift would be wonderful right now, so much better than my car being hit… Again !

Sabrina Weidman: I would share with Mary Coolidge. She is the most giving, selfless, amazing woman I know. She’s always blessing someone else. She would give the shirt off her back if it were her last shirt.

SISTERS & WIVES
lisamys1: my sister @jwlbug28 deserves this gift because she’s funny… mischievous… smart… and right now my nurse since I have a knee injury. She’s the best!

Suzanne Canfield: My big sis Shannon Schleif who is busy raising 4 boys, all 9 and under. She works 24/7 and deserves a treat for herself!

Kelly Marie Hoosier: My little sister Anna is such a strong woman and lets everyone lean on her but she feels bad if she even thinks that she needs to lean on anyone! She deserves a lift! She’s so amazing! Love you, sissy!
