New Swimwear for Your Holiday Getaway

Even if it feels like summer ended ages ago, swim season is still in full swing if you want it to be.

Be it the Maldives or the YMCA pool, if you’re escaping someplace warm soon and need to ease back into a swimsuit, it’s best to default to a sure thing. In our world here at Bare Necessities, that means features like bra sizing, for the best fit and support, and built-in shapewear, because we’d argue we’re all a little squishier this time of year. Add a splash of chlorine resistance for soaking in a hot tub time or doing laps in a pool, and you’re right back in the swim of things.

Check out our expert swim buyer Megan Puma’s of-this-moment must haves:

Sunsets Copacabana

We’re big fans of separates you can easily shuffle around to make a seemingly new swim wardrobe, and so far this season, the Copacabana collection is where it’s at. Depending on what you’re doing and where, you can pick and choose from among three bra-sized tops—a halter bikini, a sporty scoop neckline tankini or this sexy twist-front V-neck tankini—and three bottoms (bikini, high-waist or skirted). Bra-sized underwire cups support band sizes 32 to 40 and cup sizes D to H; you can’t even tell there are power mesh-lined wings and a hook-and-eye closure built right into the inside-back of the top. The fun, bright tropical leaf print pairs with with solid-colored bottoms if you prefer…not to mention a lounge chair and a fruity drink.

Miss Mandalay Vegas

Animal prints are not only one of the most important trends Megan is seeing for spring 2020, they’re always one of the most important trends. To wit: this little leopard-spotted assortment, which has been a customer favorite since it first launched back in November. In cup sizes 32 to 26 and UK band sizes D to GG, the smooth, stretch microfiber top gives you the look of a halter plus the lift and support of a seamed, mesh-lined underwire bra. When it comes to bottoms, you can choose either the somewhat fuller-cut brief or the teenier side-tie bikini. Take it to the Mandalay Bay in Vegas for girls’ weekend, sure, or wherever the sun is shining—have leopard print, will travel.

Roxanne One-Pieces

If you’re looking for a swim dress, a modest one-piece, a chlorine-resistant swimsuit, a suit with C-DD cups sewn in or a suit that acts like a cover-up, then two of our new options have got you covered. The chic, shaping Roxanne Solids Shirred Swim Dress is, for all intents and purposes, the little black dress of the pool party. It emphasizes the chest with its vee neckline and wire-free foam cups. It flatters the waist and tummy zone with shirred slimming fabric and hips. And the short skirt does great things for hips and thighs. The Painted Petals Sarong One-Piece (click the Roxanne link), in different shades of blue, conceals a bit more thanks to its allover floral print.

Miraclesuit Meets Mesh

Solid-colored swimsuits are hardly ever as interesting as they are in Miraclesuit’s capable hands. That’s the power of mesh panels used to great effect—they make a strong shaping suit downright sexy. Expand your neutral palette to include the olive green one-shoulder Miraclesuit Jena Network One-Piece, become as smooth and as cool as a river stone in the mélange gray Miraclesuit Illusionists Cross-Over One-Piece or try black with a literal twist in the Miraclesuit Illusionists Circe One-Piece.

C’mon back in, the water’s fine—and so are you.
