The Best Bras for Big Boobs

Bra expert Heather V.

Especially in warmer weather, big boobs have needs: They do not wish to sag or sweat. They require no small amount of lifting and centering, shaping and smoothing. And when you finally come across the right bra in the right size, they would also rather like to feel as good as they look. We don’t think that’s too much to ask for, do you?

When faced with an assortment as massively comprehensive as ours here at Bare Necessities, the only question is where to begin. Well, you could definitely use our Bra Finder to get some spot-on, data-driven product recommendations. Or you could take Heather Viskovic’s word for it. Our expert full-bust (and full-busted) bra buyer says that if you can only pick up a few new bras a season, these five are where she would personally tell you to put your hard-earned money.

Read on now to find out the latest, greatest bras for big boobs that we’re excited about at this very moment, and treat your girls to the happier summer possible.

1. Freya Starlight Idol T-Shirt Bra

Everybody needs a smooth, shaping, neutral, wear-everyday T-shirt bra and, if you’re a DD-cup or above, this is The One. Don’t be fooled by Starlight’s good looks: It’s supremely soft and comfortable against the skin, banishes bulges with ease and, despite giving you full coverage, completely disappears under even the thinnest tops. (UK-sized; bands 28-38, cups DD-HH)

2. Fantasie Fusion Side Support Bra

In pastel, semi-sheer style, Fusion is the mother of all side-support bras: Four-part, double-layer cups support even heavy breasts. Breathable powernet mesh wings get your boobs out from under your armpits. And with smoothing superpowers that visually minimize your silhouette, it helps make clothes look their most flattering. (UK-sized; bands 28-38, cups DD-HH)

3. Panache Envy Side Support Balconette Bra

When you’re wearing more of an open neckline, the long-loved Envy gives you great uplift and style—check that houndstooth—in so many colors that you’re going to want to build a collection for every day of the week. The stretch lace spanning the cups is what makes this such a winner because it conforms to fit your shape, even if you’re shallow up top. (UK-sized; bands 28-40, cups D-K)

4. Elomi Sachi Side Support Cage Bra

For a sexy look that still packs serious side support (in the form of seamed four-part-cups and cotton-lined side panels), look no further than Sachi. Sure, you could save this gorgeous sheer, cage bra for special occasions, but don’t be surprised if you find yourself wearing it for a little thrill even under a T-shirt. It’s that good. (UK-sized; bands 34-46 cups DD-JJ)

5. Panache Elan Convertible Plunge T-Shirt Bra

A plunging T-shirt bra is perfect not only for lower-cut tops but also for keeping any jiggle at bay. Elan’s foam-lined cups are all the S’s: shapely, supportive, smooth, seamless and stretchy. Change up the straps to turn it into a racerback for playing nicely with tank tops all summer long. (UK-sized; bands 28-38, cups DD-H)

I’m a 38E to 40E depending on the week! I wear a Fantasie 4510 as my go to work bra. But also have a couple of the different Fantasie side support options, and Chantelle for special occasions. I’d love to see a review like this for a wire-free weekend bra. I’d love to have something that is comfortable but still provides enough support that I’d be able to run to the grocery store without having to change into an underwire bra. I have little weight in the top of my breast – most of the mass is in the bottom and sides. Most wire-free offer no support or are baggy at the top because they have a more triangle shape. rather than a balconette shape. But I may try a few of these.

Thanks for your feedback! I think a post on comfortable weekend bras is a great idea. In the meantime, please reach out to one of our Bra Fit Experts to discuss different wire-free options that would fit your needs. They can be reached at 1-877-728-9272, option 4. Our Bra Fit Experts are available Mon-Wed 8:30am – 10:00pm EST and Thurs-Sat 8:30am – 6:00pm EST.

Hi, Jamie! So sorry to hear you did not find your band size in this list. The Elomi Sacchi does actually go up to a 46 band. However, we’ve got a vast assortment of styles and sizes on our site, and we do carry bras that range up to a 58 band. When you have some time, please reach out to one of our Bra Fit Experts at 1-877-728-9272, option 4. Our Bra Fit Experts are available Mon-Wed 8:30am – 10:00pm EST and Thurs-Sat 8:30am – 6:00pm EST. We won’t stop until we get it right.

Hi Jassie! We’re so happy to hear that you finally found a bra that you love! We would love to hear which style you found that worked for you…! ❤

I actually buy from Torrid for my bras. They don’t carry my size 36J/GG, but they carry a 40H, which works as my sister size. Their bras have actual moulded cups and good padding. It makes you feel like you’re wearing the same bra as everyone else instead of an unlined, unpadded disaster. What is with busty women not being able to have a nice padded bra like everyone else? We’re the ones who need the support?

I absolutely HATE T-shirt and fabric thin bras. I need padding and push up to give extra support. My bras should be like a sexy Kevlar vest. I should be able to pound my chest like Tarzan and not see nipple poking through my tee.

Your site, as well as many others out there, take one look at actually busty women, and go ‘Oh, we can save material and still charge an arm and a leg if we just get rid of padding and a moulded cup, and throw seams all around.’ Or we get grandma’s mastectomy bras. No wire, no padding, multi-clasp front closure. I have big boobs because of genetics, not because I sleep all the time. Give me a real bra. A sexy bra. I’m 24, I want to show off my boobs to my partner and not have to live in nasty granny bras with my nips poking through everything. Why can’t big boobs get the support and same level of display/sexiness as everyone else?

Sorry for the rant. I’ve had my boobs for 6 years and I would just like a decent bra in my actual size for once. But apparently no one thinks girls like me deserve that level of respect because we have big knockers and ‘should be so lucky.’

I have a very small back, but a large bust, I’m somewhere between a 28DD -30DD. It’s such an annoying size because it’s hard to find a bra with a small enough band that will securely support a large cup size. More frustrating to me is this odd size is not sold in retail stores, so I have to buy online and it’s expensive. I would love to have an average band size and be able to buy $40 bras, but the odd size bras are usually $65+ and not often on sale, when there is a sale the odd sizes are always sold out. Wish Bare Necessities had a larger stock of 28-30DD bras for sales.

We’re sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble finding the right fit at the right price. When you have a few minutes, please reach out to our Bra Fit Experts at 877-728-9272, x4. They have startlingly encyclopedic knowledge of styles that will work for you. They can also let you know about any current or upcoming promotions and take care of any returns you may have in the process. Good luck!
